History

 

It is located in the village of Nea Peramos, which is washed by the waters of the Saronic Gulf.

Near it, you can see the island of Salamis, which is known from the famous naval battle of Salamis, fought in 480 BC. between Greeks and Persians, during the Persian Wars. 

The Special Forces Training Center is one of the first Special Forces Units in Greece.

It was initially established in the area of Kavouri, in March 1947.

In early 1955 it Moved to the present location and was named after the founder of the Greek Special Forces, Major General Andreas Kallinsky.

The main mission of the Special Forces Training Center since its establishment consists of giving specialized training to military personnel in mountaineering, climbing, rappelling, amphibious operations, tactical combat casualty care, planning, underwater demolitions and others.

The Special Forces Training Center is active, in cooperation with the local authorities, in sending aid to citizens in need, of the Municipality of Nea Peramos and surrounding areas. 

Also, its assistance in the restoration and prevention of the negative effects of natural disasters, such as fires, floods etc, in the wider local community is an important part of its activities.
